I teach Vinyasa (flow) yoga which focuses on connecting movement with breath using a sequence of poses that can vary from class to class, but with the aim of leaving you feeling refreshed and relaxed but also energised and vibrant. My classes range from classes with flowing movement to help build energy and vitality to gentle restorative classes with slow, subtle movement to open, release and relax.
In addition to asana (poses) and movement, all my classes involve either an element of guided relaxation or a short meditation practice focused on creating space for people to be calm and centred at a time where it's more important than ever.
I believe that yoga is a gift that everyone can enjoy regardless of age or lifestyle. I love supporting anyone who's curious about the benefits, regardless of experience level. I also love talking about yoga and personal and community regeneration. If this interests you too, check out my blog for more musings.
I teach in the beautiful Southern Highlands - Gundungurra Country. My regular classes are at The Lodge, Mittagong - a peaceful multipurpose, wellness space nestled in bushland near Mt Alexandra reserve, Mittagong, and The Mittagong Playhouse "Supper Room" in Mittagong town centre.
Quite simply, yoga can make you feel great while providing significant health benefits. Regular practice can improve circulation, reduce blood pressure, improve mobility, tone and strengthen muscles and bones, benefit the immune system and help reduce stress.
I came to yoga 17 years ago as a way of finding balance in a pretty unbalanced corporate life. Since then yoga has been a constant companion, eventually leading me to complete Yoga Teacher Training and Meditation Teacher Training with Nicole Walsh and Rod Galbraith at InYoga in Sydney, Australia. Yoga has helped me so much in my life and I now love sharing the benefits of yoga and meditation with others.
I live with my family in the Southern Highlands, 1.5 hours south of Sydney. I balance teaching yoga with a job that I love, working for a non-profit, and that helps me understand the unique needs of busy people with competing interests. In addition to my love of yoga I’m also a keen adventurer, ocean swimmer, hiker and musician and love getting involved in my local community.
